Abstract:
Includes numerous manuscripts of
poems, prose, and short stories (many with drawings) by the American writer,
illustrator, and designer Edward Gorey. Much of the material dates from Gorey's
time
at Harvard University and includes writings for courses (some with comments from
the
poet John Ciardi, his English professor), class notes and quizzes, and grade
reports. Some letters written or received by Gorey are present, including
correspondence from his mother, father, and his Harvard roommate poet Frank O'Hara.
