Abstract:
The correspondence of Eric Sellin, professor of French and Francophone Literatures
at
Tulane University, reflects his scholarly activity. Areas of interest include Francophone
literature of Africa (including the Maghrib) and the Caribbean; American and Anglophone
literature, avant-garde literary movements, and comparative aesthetics. Correspondents
include artists, novelists, playwrights, philosophers, poets, scholars, critics, editors,
publishers, and journalists from around the world for a forty-five year period,
1954-1999.

The correspondence is arranged alphabetically and includes clippings, essays, articles,
book reviews, and poetry.
Separated Material
Books from Eric Sellin were transferred to the Ransom Center's Library and are described
separatly in the University of Texas Library Catalog. A small number of items were
transfered to the Center's Vertical File
Collection.
