DESCRIPTION |

Interior view of an unidentified grocery store located in or around Corpus Christi, Texas. Three men stand at the end of a dark wooden counter. On the counter are a roll of paper, a glass container of cookies, a loaf of Butter-Krust bread, Harmony single edge razor blades, and a large scale. Shelves of canned and boxed goods line the walls. This grocery was not self service. Instead, the men behind the counter would fill the customers' orders. The store sold Colin County and Dittlinger flours, Grandma's homemade cookies, canned Pet milk, Oak Grove canned tomatoes, canned mackerel, glass chimneys for kerosene lamps, and Harmony razor blades, four for 10¢. Note that all of the light sockets are empty and the scales only go to nine pounds. |
