TITLE   Boehmer's Blacksmith Shop
DESCRIPTION   Interior view of Boemer's Blacksmith Shop located at 405 Laguna Street in Corpus Christi, Texas. Two men in dirty work coveralls stand in the center of a spacious blacksmith shop. The man on the left is owner John Boehmer. This shop was powered by a centralized gasoline engine. Power tools were hooked up to belts which were powered by a line shaft that ran along the ceiling. Note the plow shares, the drill press, the power-driven hacksaw, the anvil, and the barrel of water used for quincing. The dirt floor was characteristic of all blacksmith shops.
