Interior view of the McGregor Barber Shop located at 415 Starr Street in Corpus Christi, Texas. Three barbers stand beside their customers seated in three swivel chairs. The barber at front, identified only as "Red," attends to Jack Taylor of the Taylor Brothers Gift Shop & Jewelry Store (also on Starr Street). The customer in the center chair is Valdemar Olsen. A long mirror and narrow shelf run along the wall behind the barber chairs. On the shelf are containers of tonic, oil, and talc. Also along this wall are a sink and a glass cabinet marked "Antiseptic Sterilizer" with an electric razor hanging from it. Waiting chairs and a spittoon can be seen along the wall at left, and a pinball machine is at the rear wall next to a door marked "Turkish baths." The decorative tile floor indicates this was a first-class shop. |
