Description: |
Set of 84 gelatin silver stereographs, which were published by Underwood & Underwood likely between 1897 and 1905, originally contained in a case made to look like two books. On each "spine" of the container, the title "Scotland through the Stereoscope" and "Volume I" and "Volume II" are printed. Each stereograph is mounted on a curved card with a title, set number, and publication information printed on the recto. Some cards also have a longer narrative description printed on the back, and/or the title in six languages. The set includes of images of cities, villages, landscapes, bridges, and castles. |
